Revolutionizing Fashion Through Sustainability

Our Vision

To create a conscious consumer movement that reshapes the retail experience by embedding transparency, accountability, and sustainability at its core.

Our Mission

Impact Retail aims to educate and engage consumers on the unseen impacts of the fashion industry — environmental, social, and ethical — and empower them to make informed purchasing decisions. Through immersive, theme-based campaigns across a three-year period, the initiative seeks to shift consumer mindsets and behaviours towards more responsible fashion consumption.

Why It Matters

The fashion industry is one of the largest contributors to environmental degradation and social inequality. Yet, the true cost of fashion remains largely invisible to consumers. Impact Retail is a response to this gap — a platform to illuminate the consequences of fast fashion, celebrate sustainable alternatives, and ultimately drive demand for more ethical and transparent practices across the industry.

Alignment with SFC’s Goals and Vision

Impact Retail directly supports the Sustainable Fashion Collective’s (SFC) mission to accelerate the transition to a fairer, more sustainable fashion industry. By targeting the consumer — a key but often overlooked change agent — the initiative complements SFC’s work with brands, suppliers, and policy makers.

This initiative strengthens SFC’s commitment to:

Awareness and Education

It fosters public understanding of sustainability challenges and solutions within fashion.

Consumer Empowerment

It positions consumers as active participants in driving positive industry change.

Systems Change

It contributes to a cultural and economic shift that aligns with SFC’s vision of a fashion industry that operates within planetary boundaries and respects human rights.

In essence, Impact Retail acts as a public-facing extension of SFC’s core values, bridging the gap between industry transformation and consumer responsibility.

Key Themes (2025-2027)

Denim is a staple in most wardrobes — but its environmental and social costs are often overlooked. This year, we unpack the denim value chain to reveal the hidden impacts behind every pair of jeans, from water-intensive cotton farming to chemical dyeing, labor exploitation, and post-consumer waste.

2025

Innovation is reshaping the future of fashion. In 2026, we spotlight cutting-edge biomaterials and next-generation textiles that offer sustainable alternatives to conventional fabrics. From mycelium leather to lab-grown fibers, this year celebrates the designers, scientists, and startups pioneering change.

2026

The fashion industry is drowning in waste — and plastic is at the core of the crisis. With polyester and synthetics dominating fast fashion, and textile waste piling up globally, 2027 exposes the scale of the problem and explores solutions for a more circular future.
